what is being disorganized costing you?
Hello Life Simplifier!
I have been thinking about this a lot while working in my clients spaces. The amount of duplicates we find, or how many times I have heard “I had no idea where that was so I bought another one” made me want to share how much money time and energy we save when we are organized and free of all that clutter.
Lost items cost the average American $2,700 every year.
The average person spends 55 minutes a day looking for things.
That’s over 12 days every year spent searching—time you could be spending with your family, pursuing a hobby, or simply relaxing.Clutter reduces productivity by up to 77%.
A cluttered environment overwhelms your brain and makes it harder to focus and complete tasks efficiently. That to-do list will take longer and feel heavier in a cluttered space.Clutter is directly linked to higher stress levels.
A UCLA study found that women who described their homes as “cluttered” had consistently higher levels of cortisol (the stress hormone). Translation? A messy home = a stressed mind.
Whether you spend the time yourself, or hire a professional organizer your clutter and disorganization is costing you a previous recourse, whether that is money, time, and mental health it is too expensive. Spend the time, make the investment and it will pay off for future you!
