A Gentle Midyear Reset: Six Months In, Six Months to Grow
Hello Life Simplifier,
Can you believe we are halfway through the year?
Some of us are exactly where we hoped we'd be. Most of us probably aren't. And honestly, that's okay.
Life changes. Priorities shift. Unexpected things happen. Before we know it, we're moving from one season to the next without taking a moment to notice what's working, and what isn't.
That's why I love a midyear reset.
Not because I think you need to reinvent your life or set a whole new list of goals, but because I believe there's value in simply pausing.
What's working?
What's no longer serving you?
What do you want more of in the next six months?
As a professional organizer, I've learned that lasting change doesn't usually come from one big weekend project. It comes from small, intentional resets that create a little more breathing room in your home and in your life.
So before the second half of the year fills your calendar, let's take a moment to reset together.
Read that again: Motivation is Overrated; Environment Often Matters More
I like to do this with a journal and a cup of coffee or tea, but if you aren’t into that… just take a moment to be present and think through some of these questions.
Section 1: Celebrate What Has Grown
What are you proud of?
What feels easier than it did in January?
What habits have quietly become part of your life?
Section 2: Let Go of What Isn't Working
Not every goal deserves to be carried into the second half of the year.
Examples:
Systems that don't fit your life anymore
Unrealistic expectations
Clutter that's creating unnecessary friction
Commitments that no longer align with your priorities
Section 3: Reset Your Home
Simple ideas like:
Choose one drawer.
Clear one counter.
Create one donation bag.
Reset one room you use every day.
Small resets build momentum.
Section 4: Reset Your Calendar
Ask yourself:
Does my schedule reflect what matters most?
What do I want more of?
What do I want less of?
Where do I need margin?
The Goal is to design a life that makes you excited for Monday morning
Section 5: Reset Yourself
Not with another list of goals.
Instead:
Rest
Nourishment
Movement
Relationships
Faith
Time outside
The point isn't to become someone new, it's to reconnect with who you want to be.
A reset doesn't have to be dramatic to be meaningful.
One organized drawer.
One honest conversation.
One afternoon spent planning instead of reacting.
One habit that makes tomorrow a little easier.
Those small choices have a way of changing much more than we expect.
The second half of the year doesn't need a perfect plan. It just needs an intentional beginning.
Choose Simple,
Sending you lots of love this last six months of 2026.
Sarah
